Kickstarter helps artists, musicians, film makers, designers and other creators to find the resources and support they need to make their ideas a reality. Tens of thousands of creative projects have come to life with the support of Kickstarter..
It has a huge community of people from all over the globe. Since their launch in 2009, over nine million people have sponsored a Kickstarter project, with over $2 billion pledged.
Every project is independently created and crafted by the person behind it. Every aspect is created over a number of months and when the creators are ready they launch their project and share it with the Kickstarter community.
This year they became a part of the Benefit Corporation,
which means as a business they have to consider the impact of their decisions on society, not on shareholders.
This allowed them to amend their corporate charter to make specific goals and commitments to art and culture, making their values the core of the operation.

Project creators also keep 100% of the funds as long as they reach the funding goal within their deadline. If the project falls short, the creator gets no money. It's an all or nothing funding scheme.
We hope by choosing to raise money through Kickstarter it will allows us to connect with people that want to get involved, keep track of where we're at and see how successful our social media strategy and advertising has been.
We're hoping that we will get a lot of locals rallying around the project as well as people being persuaded by the actual Kickstarter presentation.
We are so, incredibly, passionate about this project and are determined to create the best possible product that we can. The responsibility of those people willing to invest in us makes it all the more important to us to produce something we can all be proud of.
